I’m currently working on a novel called Mr Winston, set in contemporary New York and 1950s/60s gangland Glasgow. It’s a departure for me because it requires a significant amount of historical research and much of it is written in dialect.

I am trying hard to concentrate on it and not on new short stuff for performance.

My gothic novel for grumpy teenagers, Mirror Widow, beat off sixty other manuscripts to win the Instant Books competition at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Alex moves to a new high school in his sixth year. There’s a girl he fancies, but there’s a reason she won’t go out with him … a terrifying reason.

The Scottish Publishers’ Association produced Mirror Widow in a very limited run. I’m currently seeking a publisher for a full run.
